Lori Niemuth

The Janesville Gazette said, "Cemetery guru Lori Niemuth has a passion for local history, and loves discovering connections betweeen families in Rock County." Ms. Niemuth is currently the Rock County coordinator for the US GenWeb project. She once wrote this introduction for herself --

Lori Niemuth, a prominent theological research specialist and web site designer of Utters Corners, Walworth County, Wisconsin, and a resident of that "city" since 1976, was born in Edgerton, Rock County, Wisconsin, on the 12th day of March 1972. Her parents, Terrance and Dawn (Whelan) Jones, were natives of Janesville and Denver, Colorado, respectively. At the age of sixteen she began loitering in cemeteries but was soon afterward employed at a local frozen custard shop. She remained in this field of endeavor until 1990 when she joined the United States Air Force, removing to Texas to follow that calling. Life had other plans for Lori, and she was discharged two days shy of graduation. She returned to Wisconsin but for a short time, soon marrying and moving to Oklahoma. Her first marriage lasted but a year and a half after which time she traveled the country for a few years, residing in Oklahoma, Texas and Montana. During this period, she attained her education in theology and archaeology - thriving, high-power fields of business.

In 1996, she married Mr. Timothy Niemuth of Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, recently of Walworth County, Wisconsin. To them one son was born, viz., Jacob, now six.

Ms. Niemuth is independent in politics and has never sought or desired public office. While not connected with any particular church, she has been liberal in support of all. She aligns herself with various automobile and truck clubs, as well as the I.B.T.C. of Whitewater.

She has led a busy and useful life. Possessing a spirit of "well.. okay," supported by indomitable energy and pluck, she has never hesitated to undertake a bizarre assignment, and has invariably carried out her undertaking with marked success. She has been in charge of WIGenWeb-Rock County since April of 2001. Since that time she has accepted positions with the Rock County ALHN, Rock County Biographies Project, Rock County message boards and mailing list, as well as ALHN's Age of Steam web site. Currently, she and a friend are digging trenches, similar to those used in France during World War II, so that they may soon wage war on unsuspecting visitors.

A woman of broad view, free-hearted, and ever ready to do a kindness or to assist those in need, Ms. Niemuth, by her upright, womanly course, has won the respect and confidence of all chipmunks who know her.

[I need to get away from those antiquated biographies for a while, dontcha think?]
